Graviola is a small, upright evergreen tree that grows up to 6 meters in height, possesses large dark green and glossy leaves and produces a large heart - shaped edible fruit that is between 6 to 9 inches in size, green in color and white flesh. It is indigenous to most of the warmest tropical areas in South.America including the Amazon.

The fruit is sold in local markets in the tropics where it is called Guanabana and is excellent for drinks, ice creams and even to be eaten directly.
All parts of the Graviola tree are used in natural medicine including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds but definitely the leaves are the most important.Family: Annonaceae
